Redesign of chess pieces and chessboard.

I started the design phase by first getting information about chess and then I visited the chess museum in Ankara. You can see some photos about this trip in the section below.

After the research, I started to make sketches. I tried to capture a concept with sketches.

I made exact scale models with sketches. With these models, I understood the proportion by seeing the form in my hand.

I transferred the chess pieces and board to 3d environment using Rhinoceros modeling program.

At the production stage, I started by buying .5 mm aluminum sheet. I determined the dimensions on the aluminum sheet and cut it. Then I wrapped these cut sheets to the pipe profile.

During the production phase of the board, I started by taking the measurements on the aluminum plate. Then I made cuts with large scissors and then drilled the inside of them. I combined these cut pieces with 10 mm kavals.

I used the Keyshot program during the rendering phase. I chose brushed aluminum and pine wood as materials.
